I received this email on 14 March 2008 from Michael, whose father died of sarcoma: "You might be interested to know that the final thing he tried appeared to be working (on his sarcoma) whereas no previous treatment had any effect (radiation, chemo, chinese medicine, or DCA). It was called photo-dynamic therapy, which appeared to cause a swelling in the tumor after the application. The tumor was in his lymph nodes as well as the spine, and after application we saw an enormous swelling in the lymph nodes in his neck. However, in his case, the tumor was also pressing onto the spinal cord nerve which controlled breathing, and he eventually was unable to breathe properly. "

Acemannan:
Acemannan is the primary carbohydrate found in aloe vera. It is reported to be a potent macrophage stimulator. Acemannan is used in veterinary work to treat fibrosarcoma. Papers exist to show it works against sarcoma too.

In that paper they say acemannan did not stop the drop in CD4.
However... this restores the CD4/CD8 ratio:
