Other compounds to consider
A Compounding Pharmacy is a great resource for many drugs, especially TM.. Click here for information on compounding pharmacies.
1. Tetrathiomolybdate, or TM, is a tremendously effective copper chelator, anti-angiogenesis compound. It is what stopped the growth of our friend Paul's malignant pleural mesothelioma. A recent report shows that it does not work against hormone-refractory prostate cancer
2. DHA, (docosahexaenoic acid, the omega-3, 22 carbon
fish oil), gets incorporated into cell membranes and helps initiate cell suicide (apoptosis). It greatly improves the actions of butyrate. There is a great study showing an apparent complete remission of a type of sarcoma using high does of DHA. The maximum tolerated dose of DHA was 300 mg/kg. Start at 50 to 100 mg/kg and use dose escalation. See the DHA page for details.

. Anti-oxidants, particularly vitamins E and C are known to counter the effects of DHA. You should not take these anti-oxidants when using the DHA-Tributyrin approach. Free radicals are needed to force the cell to commit suicide. This issue is discussed and supported on the DHA, page.
4. Alpha lipoic acid might be a good supplement to take with DCA, as it is known that DCA and ALA synergize. Click here for support article.
R+ ALA is considered by many to be the best choice for alpha lipoic acids. This chat room link gives additional information. www.r-lipoic.com/ is good too. Taking ALA and COQ10 is probably a smart thing to do with DCA. Many cancer patients take both ALA and CoQ10.
5. MMS. Sodium Chlorite, NaClO2. We use this low-cost material for a variety of ailments ourselves. It appears effective against many pathogens and some types of inflammation. A number of our friends use MMS and we have been told of many amazing results. In one case, a gentleman's Hepatitis C virus count dropped by 2/3 after several months on MMS. Some cancer patients are starting to report that it helps them.

7. Verapamil. A compound used to eliminate the chemo-resistance of cancers.
This is an especially important consideration for those people who are not responding to DCA.
8. Tributyrin is made by connecting three butyrate molecules. It is an approved food additive that offers low toxicity and an amazing variety of anti-cancer actions and synergies. Use tributyrin starting at 100 mg/kg three times a day (approximately 2 teaspoons three times a day). Use the practice of dose escalation (altering the dose up or down according to how well it is tolerated.) Do not exceed 400 mg/kg three times daily. Supportive research is on the tributyrin page.
9. Synergy. Butyrate and DHA work together. Recent research reveals a mechanism of action very similar to how DCA works. Click here to see supportive research.

DCA Topically Applied
Several DCA people have used DCA topically to treat skin cancers. The use of DCA with an aloe vera gel has been reported to show good results.
